WINGATE — Robert C. Quinlan, 60, of Rt. 1, Wingate died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Veterans Hospital at Danville, Ill. Mr. Quinlan retired from farming in 1972 due to failing health. He was employed at Gray Construction Co. at Crawfordsville. He served in the armed forces in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the VFW Post at Crawfordsville and a former member of the Wingate American Legion. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was a 1940 graduate of Tuscola High School at Tuscola, Ill. Born Nov. 15, 1921, at Pesotum, Ill., he was a son of William and Catherine Dadey Quinlan. He was married to Geneva Hoagland at Wingate on July 26, 1960. She survives. Also surviving are a twin brother, Ray of Champaign, Ill.; a brother, William of Dana; an aunt, Mrs. Josephine McDonnell of Chicago; and nieces and nephews. The parents and a brother, Harold, are deceased. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Catholic Church at Crawfordsville with the Right Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating. Burial will be in Osborn Prairie Cemetery, north of Veedersburg. Friends may call at Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown 5-9 p.m. Wednesday. The Crawfordsville VFW Post will have graveside military rites.  --waw
