QUINLAN, Michael - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Michael Quinlan, 70 , was found dead in a woodshed in the rear of his home, 609 Wallace Ave, Wednesday morning. Dr. Charles Riley, cuonty coroner, who examined the body, estimated that death had taken place 3 days ago. Acute heart disease was given as the cause. The body, slumped against a pile of wood in the shed, was found by Claude Esra, local grocer. Mr. Esra told Coroner Riley that Mr. Quinlan had called daily at his store for several years and that when he failed to appear this week he decided to investigate. Mr. Quinlan had been chopping wood with an axe and apparently was stricken while preparing to carry the wood to the house. Mr. Quinlan was born Oct 8, 1866, in Maryland the son of David and Katherine DeWire Quinlan. He was a member of the local lodge of Eagles and had spent practically his entire life in this community. For several years he was employed by the Water & Gas Company here. Surviving is a brother, John B. Quinlan of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. William Frelhammer of St. Bernard's Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be made at Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
