Edward S. Quillin, 61-year-old retired postal employe, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since last Saturday. He resided about two miles west of Crawfordsville on Ind. 32. Mr. Quillin was employed by the Crawfordsville Post Office for 30 years until his health began failing in 1962. A 1924 graduate of Waynetown High School, he had worked at the Indiana State Fair the past 13 years and maintained a great interest in race horses. He was a member and past master of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of the Christian Union Church near Waynetown, Elks Lodge at Crawfordsville, and National Association of Retired Civil Employes. Born Nov. 29, 1905, near Waynetown, he was a son of Clare and Ethel Swank Quillin. He was married Aug. 7, 1926, to Lucille Tatlock, who survives. Other survivors include his father and stepmother, Clare and Ethel Quillin of Crawfordsville; a son, Fred of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Dean Simpson of Crawfordsville; a brother, Harold of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Maxine Lytle of near Crawfordsville and Mrs. Evelyn McArthur of Biloxi, Miss.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. John R. Servies in charge. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday. --typed by Walt W
