Halfred L. Quigg, 77, Rt 2, Sheridan, former Montgomery Countian, died Monday morning in Punta Gorda Hospital at Punta Gorda, Florida. He was a WWI veteran, a member of the American Legion Post at Noblesville, a past member of the Sheridan Rotary Club and past council member of the Hamilton County 4-H. Mr. Quigg moved to Sheridan from Montgomery County in 1942. He was born in this county August 24, 1895, the son of Francis and Tacy Johnson Quigg. He was married to Emma Fay Conrad on April 17, 1919. His wife survives. Also surviving are a son, Francis of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Mrs. Wilma Jean Patton of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Wilberta Olin of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Winona Lyon of Sheridan; 17 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford and Curtis, both of Crawfordsville and three sisters, Miss Rena Quigg of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Josie Sorrels of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Bertha Hymer of Roachdale. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hinshaw Funeral Home, Sheridan with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. -- kbz
