Powers - Lottie Belle

Mrs. Lottie Belle Powers, 69, widow of Samuel T. Powers, died Friday morning at her home in New Market after an extended illness. Born Feb 18, 1878, in Parke County, Mrs. Powers was the daughter of George and Amanda Crutchfield McClain. She was a member of the New Market Christian Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Herman Back of Indianapolis; two sons, Clayton and Clifford Powers, both of New Market; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Browning and Mrs. Elizabeth Kessler, also of New Market; two brothers, Alonzo McClain of Indianapolis and Ernest McClain of Dayton, O, and two grandchildren. Besides the husband, a son, James Powers and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the New Market Christian Church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon with burial at Ladoga, Rev Lynton Elwell will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the late residence. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the rites.
