Frank M. PORTER, who grew up in Greene Twp died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday Dec 19 at the Jay Co. Hospital, Portland shortly after being admitted. He was strickened with a heart attack in his office on N. Meridian Street about 2 p.m. He went to Portland in 1927 as an Agricultural Teacher and had been in the insurance and real estate business for 30 years. He and his son-in-law, Gabor Takats, were associated in the firm of Porter & Takats. He was born March 1, 1897 the son of Rufus & Mary Ball Porter. He was a graduate of Waveland HS. He received BS in Ag at PU in 1919. He was married in 1919 to Hazel LIVENGOOD who survives along with 3 daughters, Jo Irene Takats of Portland; Helen Brubaker of Daleville; Mary Katherine Juillerat of Portland and one son, John R. Porter of Berne; 3 grandchildren, one brother, Carl of Waveland; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Heslar of W. Lafayette and Mrs. Ruth Vaugh tof Judson. Funeral services were held Friday with burial in Center Cemetery, Portland. - kbz
