Darlington - Donald Edison Porter, 57, died Wednesday night in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis where he had been a patient 30 days. He resided northwest of Darlington. Mr. Porter was engaged in general farming all his life and had resided in Fountain and Boone Counties before moving to this area in Febraury 1957. He was a graduate of Bloomingdale HS and member of Sugar Creek Campbers Club and Darlington Conservation Club. He was past member of National Flying Farmers club. Born Aug 29, 1912, near Waveland, he was a son of Benjamin F. and Barbara Apple Porter. He was married Mach 5, 1938 in Montgomery County to Rachael Leona Heath. Survivors include the widow, 3 daughters, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Rose of Rt 2, Jamestown; Mrs. Larry (Margery) Bennett of Rt. 1, Romney and Mrs. John (Donna) Lytle of New Market; two sisters, Mrs. Hardin Tincher of Crawfordsville and mrs. Mabel Porter of Dayton, Ohio and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Fuenral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright & Burkhart Funeral Home at Darlington with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum at Crawfordsville. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
