Mrs. Lily D. Plummer, aged 47 years, died Wednesday at 8 o’clock p.m. at the home of her sister, Mrs. Mary Robbins, on East Main Street. She had been ill only a few days with peritonitis. There was a short service at Mrs. Robbins’ home this morning at 10 o’clock, and at 1 o’clock the body will be taken to Danville, Ill., for interment.
Mrs. Plummer was the head nurse in the asylum at Kankakee, Ill., and when taken sick was here on a visit. She was a woman of the finest qualities of mind and heart, and was of recognized ability and power in the humane profession to which she gave her life. She leaves two children, Miss Lucy and Master Jesse.
