Wilmer PLATTER, 73, of Rockville died at 1:30 Sunday afternoon June 29 in the Union Hospital, Terre Haute. Mr. Platter well known throughout this area, was formerly owner-operator of the Indianapolis-Rockville -Clinton Bus Line, an organization which he had operated for 38 years. He had been a patient in the hospital for about two weeks, having undergone surgery 12 days ago. Death was attributed to heart failure and complications following the operation. Mr. Platter was born March 27, 1885 in Indiana, the son of Peter and Nancy Kelly Platter. He was married to Ora Baldwin who preceded him in death July 4, 1957. Mr. and Mrs. Platter had lived near Montezuma before moving to Rockville. Mr. Platter is survived by a son, Layton of Danville, Indiana; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Alexander of Lagrange, Ill; two grandchildren and one great grand. He was a member of the Rockville Methodist Church also the Rockville Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Branson Funeral Home in Rockville with burial in Memory Garden. -- kbz
