WAYNETOWN--Mrs. Mary Pittenger, 85, died suddenly of a heart attack here Tuesday evening at 6:30 o'clock at the Small Nursing Home where she had resided the past two years. Born Dec. 6, 1867 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Scaags. On March 31, 1892, she was married to Frank Pittinger, who preceded her in death many years ago. Mrs. Pittinger was a member of the Center Christian Church located north of Elmdale. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Wingate. Surviving are a step-son, Walter O. Pittinger of California; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Shelton, of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Grenard and Servies Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home.
