Hillsboro-- Mrs. Gertie Ellis Pitman, 79, an invalid for the past two years following a hip fracture, died at 4:30 a. m. Sunday (Feb. 3, 1952) at her home here. She had been seriously ill for the past two weeks. Mrs. Pitman, a life resident of the Hillsboro community, was born July 26, 1872 near Hillsboro, daughter of James and Sarah Ellis. Her parents, a brother, Alva, a sister, Mrs. Ada Ridge, a daughter, Mrs. Vertie McBroom, and a son, Cecil, preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Glenn R. of Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Munns of Columbia City, Ind.; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The body is at the Crumley Funeral Home here where it will remain until time for services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church. The Rev. John Kirkpatrick of Fowler will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. --typed by Walt W
