A Sad Death – On Thursday morning while RBF Pierce was engaged in pleading before the Court of Commissioners word was brought him that his wife was very ill. When he arrived at his residence on Green Street he was met with the sad news that she was dead. Mrs. P. has been in delicate health for some time but was rapidly improving but was suddenly stricken down while walking across the floor and died in a few minutes from the rupture of a blood vessel of the heart. She was a lady highly esteemed by all. The funeral services took place at the family residence this afternoon and were very largely attended. Court adjourned and the Bar attended in a body. Mrs. Pierce was the only sister of Mrs. JS Brown. - kbz
