George W. Pierce, 70 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lester McClamrock, south of Round Hill, at 0:15 o’clock Monday evening. Mr. Pierce was in his usual health, and on Sunday visited his home farm and attended church services at Round Hill, returning to the home of his daughter in the afternoon. During Sunday night he was stricken with acute indigestion which resulted in his death late Monday afternoon. George W. Pierce was born on n farm near Yountsville February 2, 1845. In 1874 he was married to Miss Sylvia A. Patton who preceded him to the grave five years ago. Shortly following their marriage they went to their farm near Round Hill where their family grew up and which continued their home. Seven children were born of this union, two of whom died at an early age. His children surviving are Mrs. Lester McClamrock of Round Hill, Mrs. Alta Misch of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Ora Faust of Linden, Mrs. John Hughes of Los Angeles, California, and one son, Jessie Pierce of Elmdale. Mr., Pierce is survived by one brother, William Pierce of Dayton. Mr. Pierce was a man of sterling character and owed no man a grudge. He was deeply religious and ever alive to his convictions of right and the need of humanity He was a member of the Round Hill M. E, church, of the K. of P. lodge of New Richmond, and of the New Richmond Horse Company. The funeral occurred at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon from the Round Hill Church, the funeral services being in charge of Revs. HD Dick of New Richmond and Geo. B. Jones of Hillsboro. The interment was made in the family lot in Mount Pleasant cemetery, the K of P Lodge of New Richmond having charge of the burial service. –-- kbz
