William Philpott, 82, retired Kingman barber died at 4 a.m. Monday January 15 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. His daughter, Mrs. Frances Hepler, had been there helping care for him during that time. Mr. Philpott was born November 30, 1862 near Kingman, the son of James and Abigail Day Philpott and spent his entire life in this community. He was married to Mary Simmons who died in 1923. Surviving him are the daughter, Mrs. Hepler of Kingman, one son, Fred Philpott, of Indianapolis, two grandchildren, Billy and Fran Philpott, and one sister, Mrs. Elzada Grimes of Wallace. The body was brought to the home of Mrs. Hepler on Monday and funeral arrangements have not been made. Fred Parham, Veedersburg undertaker will be in charge. - kbz
