Philpott - Flora Lough

Montgomery County, Indiana 1934 -- Hillsboro, May 14. Mrs. Flora Philpott, wife of Harris Philpott passed away at the family home three miles south of here this morning. Deaht ocurred at 4:30 o'clock and following an eight months' illness. Uremic poisoning was given as the immediate cause of death. Mrs. Philpott's illness began when she sustained a fractured hip after being struck by a machine driven by her brother, Irve Lough. The mishap occurred in Crawfordsville and Mrs. Philpott was taken to Culver hospital where she was a patient for about two weeks. She was then brought to her home here and had been at the family residence since. Mrs. Philpott was 70 years old and was the daughter of Samuel and Caroline Collins Lough. She was born April 15, 1864, on a farm near Marshall and had spent the greater part of her life in Fountain county. Those surviving are the husband, two sons, Troy and Ted, Indianapolis; a granddaughter and grandson; two brothers, Nelson and Irve, of Hillsboro, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Frazier of Indianapolis and Mrs. Laura Purnell of Steam Corner. Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. O. W. McGaughey of Veedersburg officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot at Rockfield Cemetery.
