Laura Mae Phelps, 88, Crawfordsville, died 1:05 p.m. Thursday in St. Clare Medical Center. Mrs. Phelps was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope Church of God in Kentucky and attended Ottowa, Ky., schools. She was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Lincoln County, Ky., to Eugene and Judy Brown Thompson. She married Albion Phelps on Dec. 26, 1934, in Kentucky. He died in 1983. Survivors include two sons, Robert, Jamestown, and Forest, North Port, Fla.; a daughter, Norma, Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mary Patton, Frankfort, Martha Sweet, Liberty, and Marie Alcorn, Broadhead, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter and several brothers and sisters are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 2:30 p.m. Monday in Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Oak Hill South Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
