Mrs. Goldie C. Proffitt, 82 of Rt. 1, New Ross, died Wednesday, June 16. Mrs. Proffitt was a former employe of the Indiana Boys’ School. She was a member of the North Salem Christian Church, 50-year member of North Salem Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of Kurtz-Booker American Legion Auxiliary at North Salem. She was a graduate of North Salem High School. She was born July 3, 1893, at North Salem, a daughter of H. C. and Nora Bassett Gibson. She married Rholla Profitt Sept. 27, 1921, at North Salem. Surviving are a son, Paul J. of Rt. 1, New Ross and a sister, Vivian Crispin, a resident of the Masonic Home at Franklin. Funeral services were Friday in Porter Funeral Home at North Salem. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. – jlr
