Mrs. Clarissa Pitman, the Yountsville woman, who took carbolic acid with suicidal intent on Tuesday, died at her home at Yountsville at 11:.45 o'clock from the effects of the poison. She regained consciousness Tuesday night and said because of her continued ill health she took the acid in order to rid herself of the world. She regretted her deed very much and tried to recover. On Wednesday she was thought to be better but before nightfall she took a change for the worse and shortly before midnight death put an end to her agony.
Clarissa Agnes May Busenbark was the daughter of Samuel and Malinda Busenbark, well known residents of this county, and was born October 27, 1882, being in her twenty-sixth year at the time of her death. She was married to James F. Pitman in May, 1905, and to this union was born three children, one of whom died in infancy. She leaves a husband and two sons, the eldest being in his third year, while the youngest is three months old. Mrs. Pitman has been in poor health sin the birth of her youngest child. She leaves a father and mother, five brothers, Sylvester, Ora, Isaaiah, Roy and Walter Busenbark and three sisters Lucinda and Elizabeth Busenbark and Mrs. Laura Mahorney.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock from the Primitive Baptist church in this city. Funeral services will be in charge of Rev. J.H. Oliphant. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
