Funeral
						 services for Mrs. Lyle E. Pierce, native of Crawfordsville, were held 
						Wednesday in a mortuary in Oak Park, a suburb of Chicago. Mrs. Pierce, 
						the former Cordelia Louise McClelland, died April 1 in Billings Hospital
						 in Chicago following a long illness. Mrs. Pierce, 53, had lived in Oak 
						Park many years. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred P. 
						McClelland, and was born in Crawfordsville Sept 4, 1909. Her mother now 
						lives in the Masonic Home at Franklin. Her father died in 1935. She was 
						graduated from Crawfordsville HS in 1927 and attended the University of 
						Illinois in Champaign. She received her bachelor's degree in the School 
						of Music at Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill and was a member of
						 the Kappa Delta Social Sorority. Survivors include the widower, Lyle E, 3
						 children: Alfred, William and Barbara; the mother, Edith McClelland and
						 a brother, Gilbert McClelland.
