The death of little Charles, which occurred Dec. 22, was the first line broken in the golden chain which untied the happy family of Mr. and Mrs. John Petticord, of New Ross, Ind. Charley was an unusually bright little boy. Although not five years old, he seemed to realize death was near and told his weeping parents that he was going to heaven. Death is sad when it enters any home, but it seems especially so when this sad messenger enters our home for the first time and bears some loved one away. Mr. and Mrs. Pettigcord have the sympathy of the entire community in this their greatest bereavement. We commend them to the Great Healer above who is now tenderly caring for their darling child and who will in the end grant them that everlasting pleasure of living with their loved boy again where parting will be no more. -s
