Funeral services for Arthur S. PETT, prominent local florist whose death occurred suddenly Friday morning will be held at the First Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock in charge of Rev. John Ward. The Knights Templar will give their services. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Pett, who with his wife, was en route to Indianapolis to see a physician, was stricken near Lizton shortly before 10 o’clock Friday morning. Mrs. Pett drove their machine on to Pittsboro at which place she found her husband unconscious. She then called the Indianapolis physician whom her husband had intended to visit and he rushed to Pittsboro immediately. In the meantime Mrs. Pett had called an ambulance from Jamestown and upon the arrival of the physician the stricken man was rushed to Methodist hospital where death occurred a few moments after arrival. In the list of survivors of the deceased printed Friday the name of a sister, Mrs. George Pett, of Waterloo, Iowa was omitted. Other survivors are the widow, Mrs. Minnie Pett; six daughters, Autumn; June; Ruth and Harriet Ann, all at home; Mrs. Fern Smith of this city and Mrs. May Huber of Bedford, and a brother, James Pett who lives in Iowa . A son was drowned while swimming in the creek NE of the city several years ago.
