Mrs. Maude M. Petro, who would have been 83 April 9, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital, where she was taken after being stricken ill early in the morning at her home, 407 E. College St. She was a daughter of Ephraim and Rebecca Livengood and was born in Montgomery County April 9, 1879. She married Harry Petro Dec. 31, 1901. They farmed for many years in the Darlington neighborhood. Mrs. Petro was a member of St. James Lutheran Church east of Darlington. She had lived here since Mr. Petro retired. He preceded her in death. Only survivors are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Petro of this city; a granddaughter, Marlene Petro, and two nephews. Two sons, Harry Jr., and Buryl Petro, are deceased. Funeral services are set for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be in Darlington’s I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday.
