John Harold PETERSON former resident of this place died Monday evening at the YMCA in New Castle it was learned here. Mr. Peterson was born in Darlington Dec 10, 1896 son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. and Nora Peterson. On April 3, 1918 he married Charlene Goodwin who expired Feb 2, 1926. He moved from here to New Castle 3 years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Phyllis Peterson; one son, James Norman Peterson; 3 brothers, Henry of Peru; H. Wilson of Columbus and Huston of Darlington and one sister, Miss Hanna Peterson of Indianapolis. A daughter, Joan died Feb 9, 1929. He attended Indiana University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He also was a member of the Darlington Presbyterian Church and Masonic Order. His mother die din 1914. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian Church here at 10 o'clock Wed morning Rev Paul Spurgen of the 1st Presbyterian Church of New Castle and a former local pastor will be in charge. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery here (Darlington). Friends may view the remains at the home of the father. - kbz
