Pneumonia, following influenza claimed another victim when Mrs. Harry Peterson, familiarly known as Grace Hunt, passed away at her home 5 miles north of town, Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Peterson had been ill for more than a week and for the last few days her condition had been alarming. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hunt of Lafayette had been wit hher nearly a week and her sisters, Mrs. Edna Harper of Urbana, Ill and Mrs. Golden Brasier of Chicago had arrived on Wednesday to assist in caring for her. The other sister, Mrs. Clara Coyner of Colfax was just recovering from a siege of pneumonia. For some time before her death, Mrs. Peterson was aware that she could not recover and arranged in detail her funeral services. Grace was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hunt and was born near Darlington in April 1890. She attended the grades and high school in Darlington, graduating in 1907. The following year she attended DePauw University. She was a great favorite with the young people of her age and with her happy disposition was always the life of the crowd. In October 1909 she was married to Harry Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson. They made their home on the old Silas Peterson farm near Potato Creek. Two sons were born to them, Haines now six and Barton, 2 1/2. At present the younger son is very ill with pneumonia at the home of his grandparents and his father is just recovering from a severe attack of influenza. Aside from her many duties as a farmer's wife and as the mother of the household she found time for various religious, patriotic and social enterprises. She was a member of the ME Church and an energetic worker in the King's Kouriers class of the Potato Creek SS and was to have been the hostess for the Christmas meeting Dec 18. She was a member of the Young Married Ladies Club and took an active part in all the charities and patriotic work accomplished by this club. She was also active in the Liberty Loan drives and the work of the Red Cross. Her life has been one that has not been lived in vail and her influence will be felt for a long time in the various organizations with which she was connected. Besides her husband and sons, parents and three sisters named above she is survived by one brother, Donald C. Hunt who is in France with the 139th Field Artillery. The funeral was conducted at the home Monday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. W.M. Nicely of the Methodist Church at Linden. The music for the service was selections on the victrola. The pallbearers were Hubert & Harold Peterson; Arthur Paddack; Claude Dunnington; Robert Lynch and Wilbur Cooper. Flower bearers were Mrs. Hubert Peterson; Mrs. Harold Peterson and MIss Gladys Campbell. Interment was made in the IOOF cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dunnington; Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. David Jackson of Crawfordsville, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Haffner, Mrs. Neander and Miss Gladys Campbell of Lafayette attended the services. -- kbz

Mrs. Grace Peterson died at 4 o'clock Friday evening from pneumonia following a short inless with influenza. She was one of the most prominent women in the community and took a leading part in church and social activities. Mrs. Peterson was born in this town in April 1890, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hunt. She graduated form the local HS in 1907 and attended DePauw University the following year. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1909 she married Harry Peterson of this place and had lived on the place where she died since that time. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Haynes and Barton her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hunt, Lafayette, one brother, Donald Hunt, serving his country in France and 3 sisters: Mrs. Clara Coyner, Colfax, Mrs. Edna Harper, Urbana, Ill and Mrs. Golden Brasher of Chicago. -- typed by kbz
