Peterman - William James

William James Peterman, 66, died at 3 a.m. Sunday in a Hammond Hospital. He had been seriousy ill about a week. Mr. Peterman, who spent most of his life here and worked as an interior decorator, moved to Hammond after his retirement about 10 years ago. He was a WWI veteran and member of the American Legion. Born May 11, 1896, at Darlington he was a son of Theodore and Laura Peterman. He was married July 19, 1919 at Indianapolis to Stella Howe who survives. Other survivors include 7 sons: William E; John and Terry of Crawfordsville; Robert, James and Melvin all of Hammond and Tom who is serving in the USAF; 7 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Fosoletos of California; Mrs. Eileen Hartle of Waveland; Mrs. Katherine Walden of New Orleans, La; Mrs. Helen Missen and Mrs. Betty Volk, both of Hammond; Mrs. Marilyn Sherill of Montezuma and Mrs. Carolyn Lichtenwalter of Crawfordsville; a brother, John Peterman of Florida and 28 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Funeral services are announced for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Shotts in charge. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Georgetown, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday. - kbz
