-- Mrs. William H. Peterman died very suddenly at her home on W. Main Street early Saturday morning. She retired in good health but on awakening in the morning, complained of suffering great pain. Mr. Peterman went after his daughter, Mrs. Robert Oldshue, but on their return they found her already dead. The funeral services at the home on Monday afternoon were conducted by Rev. WF Gibson, assisted by Rev JJ Fisher, after which the body was laid to rest in Presbyterian Cemetery. Rachael SUllinger, daughter of Reuben and Mary SUllinger was born in Knox Co IN Feb 22, 1822. She married William H. Peterman Aug 15, 1839. To them were born one son and three daughters, to cheer their hearts and bless their home: Wiliam who died Oct 31, 1864; Mrs. Emma Robertson; Mrs. Sue Crafton and Mrs. FLora Oldshue. Mrs. Peterman joined the Presbyterian Church at Carlisle in June 1840 under the pastorate of Rev. Charles K. Thompson and lived a consistent christian life for more than 60 years. She loved her church and when able, was always found in her place in the House of God. She had no time to leave a dying testimony but the testimony of her gentle, devoted life is sufficient. As the first rays of light streaked the dawn she was called to her reward. Her aged husband, 3 daughters, one sister and friends and neighbors will greatly miss her. kbz
