Penn - Grace

Miss Grace L. PENN, a former resident of Waveland died at her home in Crawfordsville, Wednesday of last week. She has been an invalid for a number of years. Funeral services at the home on Friday afternoon were in charge of Rev. Raymond Skelton, pastor of the Browns Valley Baptist Church, assited by Rev. Paul Million, pastor of the first Christian Church in Crawfordsville. Lucy Gardner and Edith Rice sang In the Garden, Face to Face and Sweet Peace, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Rynearson at the piano. Pallbearers were Bernard McCoy, Ford Penn, Harley Rynearson, Bert Decker, Harry Penn and Ralph Burroff. Flower bearers were Eddie Lee Burroff, Dale Burroff, Max Burroff, William Penn, Margaret Penn, Mac McCoy and John Linn. Burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery, a number of friends from here being in attendance. She was the daughter of john and Eva Moore Penn and was born on the old home place south of Browns Valley. The family moving to Waveland, she grew to womanhood here and was graduated from the high school with the class of 1903. Both of the parents died here. With her sister she moved to Crawfordsville. While here she joined the Christian Church, transferring her membership to First Christian in Crawfordsville. She is survived by the sister, Bessie with whom she made her home; Mrs. McKinely Burroff, and a brother, Walter Penn, of Browns Valley.
