Pence, Victor L - Friends may call at Machled & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland after 7 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Walter L. Porter officiating, interment in Rossville Cemetery.  Several nieces and nephews survive.

Waveland - Victor L. Pence, 63 of Waveland formerly of Rossville, died in Community Hospital, Indianapolis at 11 p.m Tuesday after an illness of several months. A traffic engineer in the Crawfordsville District of the Indiana State Highway Department, he formerly was a school teacher and prinicpal and lived in Waveland 15 years. Born at ROssville, he was graduated form high school ther ein 1920 and from Purdue University. He received the bachelor of science degree form the Purdue School of Mechanical Engineering in 1924 and master's in 1940. His late father, Samuel R. Pence was a Rossville druggist. Mr. Pence taught school for 26 years at Rossville, New Waverly and Waveland and all but 7 years of that time was a principal.  Afterward he was employed by the State Highway Department. He was married to Zula Snyder of Rossville in 1926 and was a member of Waveland Methodist Church and Lions Club, Rossville Masonic Lodge 318 the Indiana Section of the Traffic Enginers and Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity. Surviving with the widow is a brother, Samuel of Grosse Pointe, Mich. Burial will be at Rossville.  - kbz
