Mrs. Mary J. Peirce, mother of Hon. R. B. F. Peirce, d. suddenly at her son's residence on So. Green St. Monday morning. Mrs. Peirce was in the kitchen at the time she expired. She was born in Ogdensburg, NY in 1819 and was in the 65th year of her age. She was a consistent Christian having been identified with the Christian Church since she was a girl. Her remains were taken to Shelbyville Tuesday morning for interment. The funeral took place on Wednesday amid a large concourse of friends. -- typed by kbz
