Pefley - Sherman

Sherman J. Pefley Sherman J. Pefley, 97, of 56 E. Main St., who had been in failing health for five years, died at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday in the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Wabash R. R. 2. Born Oct. 17, 1864, in Wabash County, he was the son of Thomas J. and Ruth Ann (Duffey) Pefley. He was married in Wabash to Rosa Tucker who died in May, 1945. One brother, Albert D., who is a patient in the Pleasant View Nursing Home, survives. One sister preceded him in death. The decedent, a lifetime resident of the county, had lived in Wabash for 60 years. Former owner of a local confectionary store, Mr. Pefley had been retired for many years. Hew as a member of the Dora Christian church and a 60-year member of the Wabash Elks Lodge. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Eddingfield Mortuary with the Rev. Glenn Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday. --
