Pefley - Gladys Adams

Mrs. Gladys V. Pefley of RR 1, Rosedale, age 82, died in the Parke County Nursing Home, Thursday evening, February 27. She was a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Milbrey Huxford of RR, Rosedale; two sons, Ernest of Indianapolis and Elmer of Rockville; three brothers, Noel Adams of Carmel, Ared Adams of Indianapolis and Edgar Adams of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Barnes Mortuary, Sunday afternoon, with Rev. B. F. Nickless officiating. Burial was in the Adams Cemetery northeast of Rosedale. --

ROSEDALE - Mrs. Gladys V. Pefley, 81, of Rt. 1, Rosedale, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in Parke County Nursing Home. She was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church. Born Dec. 26, 1893, Parke County, she was a daughter of Silas and Nancy Hawkins Adams. She married Claude Pefley who died in 1951. Surviving are two sons, Ernest of Indianapolis and Elmer of Rockville; a daughter, Mrs. Milbrey Huxford of Rosedale; three brothers, Noel Adams of Carmel, Ared of Indianapolis and Edgar of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Barnes Mortuary at Rockville with burial in Forks of the Creek Cemetery near Rosedale. Friends may call at the funeral home.
