Pefley - Amanda Pearson

Mrs. J. H. Pefley, an aged and well-known resident of this county, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. T. Morrow on north Cass Street about 12:30 o’clock this afternoon, death being due to a stroke of paralysis with which she was stricken about three weeks ago. Mrs. Pefley, formerly Miss Amanda Pearson, was born in this county on May 8, 1840, where she had spent her entire life. In 1862 she was united in marriage to J. H. Pefley, of Liberty township, to which union six children were born, three of whom survive namely, Mrs. J. A. Bettisworth, of Coffeyville, Kan.; Mrs. Charles Greer, of Anderson and Mrs. G. T. Morrow, of this city. She is also survived by her husband with whom she shared the happiness of wedded life on a farm south of the city until stricken with paralysis at which time she was removed to the Morrow home, one brother, M. B. Pearson, of Lafontaine, and one sister, Mrs. J. T. Lines, of Springfield, Mo. The funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. T. Morrow, at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning.
