Ray Pefley of 105 E. High St., Rockville, age 81 died at his home, Sunday morning, June 17. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Fellenzer Post American Legion. He was a retired farmer mill worker and railroader. Surviving are the widow, Leta; two step-daughters, Mrs. Heazel Grinley and Mrs. Mary E. Kratzer, both of Terre Haute; two step-sons, Paul Minderman of Rockville and John Minderman of Terre Haute; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Overpeck, Mrs. Cleo Miller and Mrs. Thelma Bradfield of Rockville, Mrs. Opal Vandivier of Bloomingdale and Miss Doris Pefley of Terre Haute; a brother, Earl of Crawfordsville; and several step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Butler Funeral Home, Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. B. F. Nickless officiating. ROCKVILLE --- Ray Pefley, 81, retired farmer, millworker (sic) and railroader, died at 6 a.m. Sunday in his home at Rockville. Mr. Peffley was a veteran of World War I and a member of Fallenzer Post 48 of the American Legion. He was born on Nov. 19, 1891, in Parke County, the son of Voorhees and Lydia Coombs Pefley. Surviving are the widow, Leta; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Hazel Grinley and Mrs. Mary E. Krazer, both of Terre Haute; two stepsons, Paul E. Minderman of Rockville and John J. Mindrman of Terre Haute; a brother, Earl Pefley of Crawfordsville; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Overpeck; Mrs. Cleo Miller and Mrs. Thelma Bradfield, all of Rockville, Mrs. Opal Vandiver of Bloomingdale and Miss Doris Pefley of Terre Haute, and several step grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. B. f. Nickless officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. --
