Marie Beryl Peffly, 91, of 1425 Greencroft Drive, died at 7 a.m. Friday (Dec. 10, 1999) at Goshen General Hospital, where she had been a patient since Nov. 29. The daughter of William F. and Marietta (Whittle) Zentz, she was born on Dec. 10, 1908, in Union, and married W. Paul Peffly on June 18, 1931. He died June 1, 1969. Mrs. Peffly, survived only by nieces and nephews, is the last of nine siblings. Three sisters, Mamie Leininger, Beatrice Logan and Lillian Dewey, and five brothers, Earle, Russell, Wayne, Ford and Kenneth Zentz, are deceased. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour before the 10:30 a.m. Wednesday funeral service at First Baptist Church of Goshen. The Rev. Louis Showers and the Rev. Ronald Newsom will officiate, followed by burial at Violett Cemetery. Mrs. Peffly, a lifetime area resident, worked at Western Union in Goshen for 30 years and retired in 1960 as a teletype operator. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Memorials may be given to the church.
