MARTHA WELLS PEFFLEY, 70, died at 10 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Huntertown, she lived in Pinellas Park, Fla., for 30 years, returning to Huntertown in 1989. She was formerly employed for 15 years with U.S. Rubber in Fort Wayne and worked at Honeywell Corp. in St. Petersburg, Fla., for 15 years, retiring in 1982. Her husband, Harold “Ted”, died in 1976. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Pruet of Hoover, Ala., and Sandra Hand of Fort Wayne; two sisters, E. Grace Pranger of Fort Wayne and Clara Downs of LaOtto; and eight grandchildren. Services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sheets Funeral Home in Churubusco. Calling 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial in Huntertown Cemetery. Memorials to donor’s choice.
