Peffley - Daniel

Daniel Peffley, well known resident of this County, died at Culver hospital at six o'clock Tuesday night of complications. He had been ill for the past six months. The deceased was born in Putnam County on November 29, 1957 (probably 1857) the son of Abram and Mary Peffley. He was united in marriage to Susan Stokes on December 10, 1882. He was a member of the New Market Christian Church and of the K. and P. lodge at New Market. He had been a resident of the New Market community for twenty years. Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Roy Hester of New Market; two sons, Roscoe Peffley of Crawfordsville and Richard Peffley of Frankfort; eight grandchildren; one brother, Frank Peffley of Russellville; and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Whitstone of Minnesota. One son preceded him in death several years. Funeral services will be held at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Roy Hester, one mile north of New Market, at 1:30 o'clock Thursday, with the Rev. William Headrick of Indianapolis in charge. Burial will be in Fincastle. - kbz
