ARTHUR R. PEFFLEY, 78, died Thursday at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Ladoga, he lived in Fort Wayne 32 years, retiring as a teacher at South Side High School after 17 years. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. His wife, Helen S., died in 1997. Surviving are a son, Philip A. of Oak Lawn, Ill.; a daughter, Janice H. Bottorff of St. Louis; a brother, Paul of Tempe, Ariz.; and six grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington road. Calling from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. MeComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. Rosary service at 3:30 p.m. Calling also a half-hour before services at the church. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to American Heart Association.

He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Fort Wayne Retired Officers Association, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and National Teacher Associations. He was also a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. His wife, Helen S., died in 1997. Surviving are a son, Phillip (sic) A. of Oak Lawn, Ill; a daughter, Janice H. Bottorff of St. Louis, Mich.; a brother, Paul of Tempe, Ariz.; and six grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, with calling a half-hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., with a 3:30 p.m. rosary service. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to American Heart Association.
