WINGATE — Carl C. Pevler, 65, died suddenly at his home here at 10:30 p.m. Thursday of a heart attack. Mr. Pevler had retired last July after having been in the plumbing and heating business here for 46 years. He had been a resident of this community since childhood. Born Nov. 15, 1896, in Fountain County, he was the son of Bloomer and Anna Fletcher Pevler. He was married Dec. 29, 1917, in Wingate to Golda French. Mr. Pevler was a member of the Wingate Methodist Church and was president of the board of directors of Greenlawn Cemetery. The survivors include the wife; a daughter, Mrs. James Meredith of Attica; two granddaughters, Teri Ann Fouts and Jaimie Meredith, both of Attica; two brothers, Omer Pevler of Newtown and Harley Pevler of Wingate, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. John Landon, pastor of the Wingate Methodist Church, will be in charge, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
