Peed - Charles - 1931

Mrs. John S. Thompson, received word on Thursday of the death of her half-brother Charles PEED of Lyndon, Kansas. Mr. Peed was born about 70 years ago in Montgomery County, near Elmdale, son of Henry and Elizabeth Widener Peed. He went to Kansas with his father when a boy, later returning to Georgetown Illinois, where he married Miss Addie Harrison he and his family then residing in Waynetown for some two or three years. From here they went to Lyndon where his wife died about 3 years ago. The survivors are one brother, Joe, one daughter, Lilly, a son, Otto of Kansas City, another son, Russell with whom he resided at the time of his death, which occurred Wednesday. Mr. Peed visited in this community about two years ago and at that time had suffered a stroke of paralysis, although his death came unexpectedly. Burial was made in Lyndon. Other relatives in this locality are: Mrs. DS Cade of Veedersburg, another half sister and a half brother, Harry Simms of Schneider, Indiana; and a cousin, Miss Phebe Earl of Waynetown and a number of relatives in and near Crawfordsville. - kbz
