Darlington – Mrs. Hazel L. Peebles, 84 of Rt 1, Crawfordsville, a native and life resident of Montgomery County died suddenly Friday afternoon at her home.  She was a member of Gravelly Run Friends Church and its Aid Society and of Darlington OES 297. She was a Darlington HS graduate.  Born Jan 8, 1887 she was a daughter of Wallace and Mary E. Elmore LaFollett. She married Leroy Peebles in 1909. They lived near Shannondale. He died in January 1933.  Surviving are two sons: Lester and Wallace of Darlington; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Lucille) Cox of Darlington and Mrs. Austin (Helen) White of LaGrange, Ill; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Three sisters preceded Mrs. Peebles in death.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bright &* Burkhart Funeral Home in Darlington where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery here.
