Blanche C. Peebles, 81, of Rt. 1, died early Thursday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after suffering a heart attack. A 1910 graduate of Darlington High School, she was active in the Friends Church at Gravely Run, teaching Sunday school and participating in Ladies Aid work. She was a 50-year member of the Darlington OES, and was also a member of the girls basketball team in Darlington. Born June 20, 1890, at Darlington, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clouser. She married Herbert Peebles Oct 25, 1910. He died in 1962. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Eula Bickerstaff of Bell Fountain, Ohio. Another sister is deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Russell and Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown with Rev. Glenn Reece officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday.
