Peebles - Arch

Darlington, January 30 - Arch E. Peebles, 63, died Sunday morning at Rockville hospital as a result of pulmonary condition. He had been sick for the past year. Mr. Peebles was born February 14, 1880 in Montgomery county, the son of Walter and Rebecca Peebles and on October 17, 1906, he was married to Nellie Buchanan, also in Montgomery county. He was a member of the Friends Church. He was a student in Purdue University for three years and later was a National Youth Administration instructor. Survivors include three sons, Hubert, South Bend; Robert, Shelbyville; and Lt. William Peebles, Camp Davis, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Milks, LaPlata, Md.; a brother, Orville, Crawfordsville, and an aunt Annis Peebles, Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and cousins. The body will be taken to the Charles Williamson home here, where friends may call. Funeral services will be at the Methodist church here at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. A.L. Vermillion. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery. - kbz
