William H. PECK an uncle of Edwin Peck died on Sunday, Jan 6 at the Putnam County Hospital. Mr. Peck was 86 and is survived by one son, Kenneth of this city, 7 grandchildren and 3 greats. He was the only surviving child of the family of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Peck which was one of the oldest and best known in the county (sic). He was born on a farm south of Greencastle on March 16, 1848. He spent his entire life in or near Greencastle being a farmer until middle age, later being in the real estate business. Although Mr. Peck had failed in health in the latter years of his life he was comparatively active for a man of his age until a few days before his death. - kbz
