Peaveler - Clara Garrison

COVINGTON – Clara Ellen Garrison Peaveler, 63, of Rt. 1, died at her residence at 4:45 p.m. Saturday. She had been ill many years. Mrs. Peaveler had been a resident of Covington since 1970. She had been employed at Switzer Corp. at Indianapolis prior to that. She was a member of Englewood Chapter 483 Order of Eastern Star and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Born Oct. 11, 1913, in Warren County, she was a daughter of John P. and Beatrice Stephens Garrison. She married Vaughn Peaveler on March 23, 1946, at Indianapolis. He survives. Also surviving are her mother of Rt. 1, Covington; two brothers, Warren Keith of Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Richard Lee of Rt. 1, Covington, three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Berniece) Salts of Rt. 1, West Lebanon, Mrs. Fred (Rose Emma) Allen of Villa Grove, Ill., and Mrs. James (Virginia) Arthur of Aster, Fla.; two stepchildren, Mrs. James (Mildred Marie) Stump of Reseda, Calif., and Robert E. Peaveler of Chino, Calif.; nine step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
