Pearson - Ray

Ray Pearson, 74, of Rt. 5, Crawfordsville, died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday in Culver Hospital. He had been a farmer and carpenter and had served on the Selective Service Board for 20 years. He was a veteran of World War I. Mr. Pearson was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Born June 9, 1902, near Ladoga, he was a son of Clarance and Melissa Harris Pearson. He was married to Thelma Tilney on Aug. 2, 1924. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Kenneth of New Market; a brother, Cecil Pearson of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Blessing of Pittsboro and Mrs. Zola Bidgood of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren. A son, Raymond, was killed in Korea. A brother and sister are also deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Powers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Wachenschwanz and the Rev. Leland Britt officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
