Crawfordsville – William Pearlman, 60, of Crawfordsville a former resident of Lafayette died unexpectedly at 9 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. Born at Lafayette, he moved to Crawfordsville in 1919 and established the Pearlman Grocery company. He sold the business in 1951 and retired. He was a member of Temple Israel at Lafayette and the Elks, Masons and American Legion at Crawfordsville. A Medical Corps veteran of WWI, he served as a typist at the WWI peace conference. He married Charlotte Sharpera in 1927 at Crawfordsville. Surviving with the widow is a brother, Himan Pearlman of Lafayette.
Funeral Notices – Pearlman, William – Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Bright Funeral Home, Crawfordsville where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Rabbi William Swartz officiating; interment in Jewish cemetery, Lafayette. An uncle, Dr. Sam Pearlman of Lafayette and several nieces and nephews also survive. - kz
