Roachdale, Feb 3 - Funeral services for Hugh S. Pearcy, who pased (sic - passed) away Monday morning were held at the home near here Wednesday morning. Burial was made at the Roachdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Risk, Arthur Oakley, Harold Young, Lee Keck, Bert Miller and Gale Pickle   --- kbz

Funeral services for Hugh S. Pearcy, who died Monday morning, were held at the home near here Wednesday morning. Burial was made in Roachdale Cemetery. Mr. Pearcy had been in ill health several months. He was the son of Samuel and Martha McCorkle Pearcy and spent practically all his life in this community. He was married August 26, 1915, at Minneapolis, Minnesota to Jessie E. Hallock who died in 1932. Mr. Pearcy was active in politics locally and was precinct committeeman several years. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Church of Christ, Scientist, Roachdale Lodge No. 602, No. F. & A. M., and Roachdale Chapter No. 247, O.E. S. Survivors include for sisters; Melissa, Mary and Dr. Lynne Pearcy, all of near here and Mrs. Letha Batman of Zionsville; two brothers Frank and George Pearcy of Hollywood, California, a sister-in-law Ethel Hallock of near here; two nephews; Professor George Etzel Pearcy of the University of Alabama and Herman Batman and one niece Martha Hampe    ---- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker who so graciously donated her Roachdale Times obituary collection !! -
