Morris Shanklin Payne, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Payne of north of New Ross, expired at 3:15 o'clock Monday afternoon at Culver Hospital following a year's illness with tuberculosis. John Russell Payne, 21, a brother died Saturday night and another brother, Albert is confined to his parents' home with the same disease. Morris was born in KY Oct 20, 1911, son of Charles and Lodema Payne. He was a member oft he Providence Christian Church. The deceased moved to this state form KY with his parents 9 years ago. He was never married. Surviving besides the parents are the brother, Albert, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. JD Alexander and Mrs. Elizabeth Runyon and a stepgrandfather, Charles Runyon. Double funeral services will be held for the two brothers at 10 o'clock Wed morning at Providence Church near Beckville. Rites will be in charge of Rev. Robert Andre of Madison. Burial will be in Darlington IOOF Cemetery. The remains will lie in state for one hour at the church preceding the services. Friends may also view the bodies at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home. - kbz
