John Russel Payne, 21, died at 9:15 o'clock Saturday night at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chalres Payne, near this city on RFD 1, following an illness of nearly two years wit tuberculosis. The youth was born July 21, 1913, at Mt. Sterling, KY the son of Charles and Lodema Payne. He was not married. He was a member of the Providence Christian Church and led a beautiful Christian life. He moved to Indiana from KY with his parents 9 years ago. Surviving are the parents, two brothers, ALbert and Morris; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. JD Alexander and Mrs. Elizabeth Runyan; a step grandfather, Charles Runyan, and a number of aunts and uncles. One brother, Charles, Jr. died Sept 28, 1921. One of his brothers, Morris is in critical condition at Culver Hospital with tuberculosis, while the other, Albert is confined to his parents' home with the same disease. Friends may view the body at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Parlor. Funeral services will be held at the Providence church near Beckville at a time to be announced later.
