Darlington, March 30 -- Albert L. Payne, 28, died following a 6 1/2 years illness with tuberculosis at 5:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home in Darlington. Born Aug 21, 1910, near Mt. Sterling, Ky Mr. Payne was the son of Charles and Lodema Alexander Payne. The deceased who was never married was a member of the Providence Christian Church. He attended the New Ross HS and for a number of years lived near that place. Surviving in addition to the father are the following grandparents, Mrs. Charles Runyon of Crawfordsville and Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander of Mt. Sterling, Ky. HIs mother and three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Proffitt & Sons Chapel in charge of Rev. Forrest Graves of New Ross. Interment will be made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Darlington. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home. - kbz
